Capital Stage Stands with the AAPI Community

Posted on April 8, 2021

We at Capital Stage are deeply saddened by the senseless violence and harassment that is being committed against Asian Americans in the United States. The horrific violence in Atlanta that took the lives of six innocent Asian Americans is just a portion of the xenophobic and racist sentiment that has escalated in this country for the past several years.

We condemn these racist acts and the poisonous speech and ideology that supports them. And we mourn the innocent lives lost in Atlanta.

We will continue to bring Asian American stories to our stage to give voice to Asian American theatre artists and fight the stereotyping and marginalization of Asian Americans.

We stand in solidarity with Asian Americans.

Please refer to our Antiracist Statement for details about actions Capital Stage is taking to address these problems.
