When an American college basketball team travels to Beijing for a “friendship” game in the post-Cultural Revolution 1980s, both countries try to tease out the politics behind this newly popular sport. Cultures clash as the Chinese coach tries to pick up moves from the Americans and Chinese-American player Manford spies on his opponents. Inspired by events in her own father’s life, Yee “applies a devilishly keen satiric eye to…her generation (and its parents).” Learn More

Writing In Alignment with Katie Rubin
Class Description: In my 6 week online writing class, we write together once a week, online, FROM FLOW. And we meet once a week, for advanced, professional, constructive feedback from yours truly online. How do we WRITE FROM FLOW? We utilize a sound-based meditation track that allows us to tap into the consciousness of your ALREADY WRITTEN PROJECT. You become literally a channel for the words that ALREADY exist and that desire to flow through you. It happens. It’s easy. You write VASTLY more than you otherwise would. I wrote a 137 page book that is currently being edited in 3 days using this technique. I am almost complete on my second AND third books using this technique. My mind is blown and eliminated every time I apply this technique. And what a relief that is! Learn more about our Teaching Artists.
