Capital Stage 2018–19 Season General Auditions

Capital Stage will hold General Auditions for its 2018–19 season as follows:

  • Berkeley:  Friday, May 18th, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Sacramento:  Sunday, May 20th, from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm & Monday, May 21st, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

At these auditions we are seeking AEA and non-AEA actors for workshops, readings, and full productions. Auditions are by Appointment Only

Please prepare 2 contrasting contemporary monologues not to exceed 3 minutes maximum.

Sacramento Area General Auditions

  • Sunday, May 20th, from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm 
  • Monday, May 21st, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

  • Equity Status (AEA, EMC, or non-union)
  • Name of the locality in which you reside
  • Website (optional)
  • Any time preferences or limitations on your availability during the specified audition times

We will email you by Tuesday, May 15th, to confirm the time and location of your audition, or your waiting list number. Please reply to confirm your audition by 5:00 pm Thursday, May 17th; otherwise your slot will be given to someone else. If something should come up that makes it impossible for you to make your appointment, please contact us so we can give your slot to someone on the waiting list.

Slots will be given to Equity actors on a first-come, first-served basis. The remaining appointments will be available to experienced non-union actors. Non-union actors must have training and must have participated in a minimum of five fully produced plays.

Actors should prepare two contrasting monologues for a combined total of not more than 3 minutes. Singing is optional (no accompanist provided). Please bring a headshot and resume listing productions in which you’ve performed, the names of the directors of these productions, and the names of the two pieces you’ve prepared.

Capital Stage operates under an agreement with Actors’ Equity Association as a Small Professional Theatre, Tier 6.
