Auditions

2019/20 Season General Auditions

Capital Stage will hold General Auditions for its 2019/20 season as follows:

SF Bay Area:   Friday, May 17, 2019   11:00 am – 3:00 pm

and

Sacramento Area:   Sunday, May 19, 2019   10:00 am – 6:00 pm
and   Monday, May 20, 2019   5:00 to 9:00 pm

At these auditions we are seeking AEA and non-AEA actors for workshops, readings, and full productions. Capital Stage is committed to diversity and we encourage performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to attend every audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

Auditions are by Appointment Only.


Sacramento Area General Auditions

Sunday, May 19, 2019
10:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 to 6:00 pm
and
Monday, May 20, 2019 5:00 to 9:00 pm

To request an appointment, please email your current headshot and resume with the subject line “Sacramento General Auditions” to casting@capstage.org. Emails will be processed if received no later than Monday, May 13, 2019. 

Please include the following information in your message:

  • Name
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address
  • Equity Status (AEA, EMC, or non-union)
  • Name of the locality in which you reside
  • Optional: Website
  • Any time preferences or limitations on your availability to audition during the audition dates and times

We will email you by midnight May 15, 2019, in order of submission, to confirm the time and location of your audition or your waiting list number.  Please reply to confirm your audition by midnight on Thursday, May 16, otherwise your slot may be offered to someone else. If something should come up that makes it impossible for you to make your appointment, please contact us so we can give your slot to someone on the waiting list.

Slots will be given to Equity actors on a first-come, first-served basis. The remaining appointments will be available to experienced non-union actors. Non-union actors must have training and must have participated in a minimum of five fully produced plays.

Actors should prepare two contrasting monologues for a combined total of not more than 3 minutes. Singing is optional (no accompanist provided). Please bring a headshot and resume listing productions in which you’ve performed, the names of the directors of these productions, and the names of the two pieces you’ve prepared.

Capital Stage operates under an agreement with Actors’ Equity Association as a Small Professional Theatre, Tier 6.
