Summer Acting Program for Teens
“Create, Rehearse, Perform!”

Capital Stage’s Youth Theatre is a summer program designed for Sacramento area middle school and high school-aged students who are continuing their theater training or discovering a love of theater for the first time. From story and character development, to ensemble-building, to live performance, skills learned in this acting class will help teens grow – both as artists and as people!

Janey is a teaching artist and actor who loves sharing her passion of the theatre arts with others. She is a Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC) endorsed theatre teaching artist who teaches students through the Any Given Child program. She teaches theatre at William Jessup University and Sierra College. Additionally, she worked in theatre education for both the Sacramento Theatre Company’s School of the Arts and the Education Department at Music Circus. As an actor, she has been seen at Capital Stage in IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, ENRON, and DUSK. Her other favorite acting credits include ROYAL FAMILY, LEND ME A TENOR, VANYA & SONIA & MASHA & SPIKE, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO, and THE THREE MUSKETEERS. She received her theatre training from UC Davis, San Francisco State University, and American Conservatory Theater.
